Hi there, I’m Angela! Thank you for taking the time to check out my site, I’m so glad you’re here!
When my mother remarried, I watched in awe as my grandfather calligraphed each and every one of her invitations with graceful, deliberate strokes. He inspired me to learn calligraphy for myself and I’m so glad I did. I believe that in an ever-growing digital world, pointed pen calligraphy adds a personalized and unique touch to any piece.
My passion for calligraphy and penmanship has been a lifelong pursuit. I’ve loved beautiful penmanship for as long as I can remember (my mother’s is, hands down, still the best I’ve seen!). I’ve written calligraphy for 10 years and in that time, I’ve taken many courses under the guide of several instructors, fulfilled calligraphy needs for multiple weddings and projects, and spent countless hours practicing calligraphy in my spare time. With the support of my friends, family and mentors, I decided to start my own business and launched Halcyon Calligraphy in 2020.
I’m a nurse informaticist and spend my days analyzing health data. When I’m not working or writing, you can find me playing tennis, eating eggplant parmesan, or diving into a new hobby. I live in Richmond, Virginia with my 12 year old shepherd mix, Dakota.
